At an Ealing Council meeting, last night, all of the Liberal Democrat Councillors voted to support a motion to stop women and staff sufferring verbal, physical and psychological attacks whilst visiting the Marie Stopes clinic.

In the vote, two of the Conservative party Councillors abstained.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: “The Liberal Democrats believe women who are seeking medical advice or treatment should not be abused in any way. Many suffer verbal or psychological attacks as they enter or leave the clinic. I applaud the hard work that the petitioners have done to bring us to this point. We now need to ensure that we stop these devastating attacks on women. Many are left with life changing mental scars.”
