Lib Dems call for action on street drinkers in Acton Town Centre6.39.45pm BST (GMT +0100) Fri 13th Aug 2004
Local Lib Dems have hit out at Labour councillors who blocked a trial for a Street Drinking Exclusion Zone in Acton Town Centre. The one month trial would see the police move street drinkers on, to get help to give up alcohol. Cllr Harvey Rose said "The problem has been here for a long time. Labour talk , but never act. Lib Dems in Acton want a trial so that we can see whether the idea works." "To do nothing is letting down the people of Acton." he added.
