Liberal Democrats are taking an active part in "Clean-Up Days" in the Borough, as part of an initiative to improve the environment of local shopping areas.

Clean-Up Day are run by a special team from Ealing Council Environmental Services, which concentrates on intensive street cleaning, removing graffiti from commercial premises and street furniture, and unblocking rainwater gulleys.

In July a team visited Pitshanger Lane, where Lib Dems helped clean and re-varnish benches. FOCUS team members have signed up as Street Watchers, who tell the Council about street cleaning and other local amenity problems such as broken curbs and trees that need attention.

Lib Dems are also encouraging householders to ask the Council team to clean graffiti from their properties. This is a free service, but it has to be asked for by the residents concerned. Ring the graffiti team on 0800 389 3237.
