For many months Chiswick Park tube station has been left in a state after previous refurbishment works. The main problem is that almost all of the old advertisement signs were taken down and then never painted over or replaced. It means that the station looks a mess.

Southfield ward councillor Gary Malcolm enquired many months ago to Transport for London and was told that things would be improved. So far nothing has happened. Gary Malcolm asked a member of staff this weekend and was told they knew nothing about it.

Gary Malcolm recently met a constituent of his, who works in Ealing Broadway, who told him that she felt unsafe at night when she was leaving the train at Chiswick Park because it looks dark and drab.

Councillor Gary Malcolm said: "All it would take is for someone at Transport for London to get a ladder and few pots of white paint to make the place brighter. Lib Dems want our tube and rail stations kept clean, tidy and safe. The Mayor of London is letting the residents of Chiswick Park down."

Gary added: "I challenge Ken Livingstone to come to the Chiswick Park tube station with some paint and a ladder and I'll help paint the station!"
