Aviation Minister should allow All of West London to Have its Say on Heathrow12.00.00am GMT Wed 23rd Jan 2008
Local Lib Dem councillor for Southfield ward has called for Jim Fitzpatrick, the government's Aviation minister, to give all of Ealing borough (which includes Acton and Southfield) the chance to speak about Heathrow expansion. Most of the southern sections of Ealing are expected to suffer badly with very noisy days and nights as well as a poorer air quality, if Heathrow expansion continues. When Councillor Gary Malcolm was informed that the Government had apparently agreed to extend consultation on Heathrow expansion across the entire of Hammersmith and Fulham, he though he should ask as well to get the same for the residents in Acton, Ealing and Southfield. So far no reply! Gary Malcolm said: "The Lib Dems are continuing to actively campaign to raise awareness in the area and have linked up with HACAN, the anti-Heathrow expansion group, and offered to deliver thousands of leaflets to assist in the campaign to stop Heathrow expansion. Gary added: "To stop Heathrow expansion we all need to club together to raise our chance of success. If anyone can drop of a small batch of anti-Heathrow expansion postcards I would be glad to hear from you. My phone number is 07813 205218 and my email address is gary.malcolm@ealing.gov.uk"
