There has been a long running campaign by parents and Councillors in Southfield, regarding the wall that juts out adjacent to the railway bridge on Acton Lane, near Woolsey's Cycle shop.
Southfield Councillor Gary Busuttil said: "Worried parents contacted me since 2014, about the safety of their children travelling to and from the ARK primary school, and being dangerously close to passing traffic. This consists of many large vehicles including lorries and buses."
Councillor Gary Busuttil added: "After pressure from residents and Liberal Democrat Councillors, council officers contacted the owner of the wall who has now agreed for the council to "tear down this wall" so that the pavement can be widened so that pedestrians, particularly children, will not be as close to oncoming traffic. We are working out the funding arrangements and will update you further when we know how this is progressing."
