Ealing Lib Dems set out key environmental policies at Ealing Transition elections hustings


Councillor Andrew Steed speaks at the Ealing Transition election debate to set out Ealing Liberal Democrat's commitments on climate change and other environmental policies.

Ealing Transition is a community group working on local responses to climate change, energy and food security. On Sunday 24th April 2022, they hosted a Climate Action Themed Election Hustings with representatives of the Liberal Democrats, Labour, Conservative and Green Parties. Ealing Liberal Democrats were represented by Councillor Andrew Steed who set out the party's manifesto commitments on the environment including:

  • Make new buildings net zero carbon
  • Retrofit existing housing stock
  • Against Heathrow expansion
  • Expand bus network across Ealing
  • Implement School Street schemes
  • Support for cycling and walking
  • Invest in parks and green spaces
  • Back Warren Farm Local Nature Reserve (LNR) status
  • Ambitious climate change plans
  • Improve air quality
  • Reverse falling trend in recycling
  • Reduce litter and fly-tipping
  • Support community clean-ups
