Saturday 5th March saw Liberal Democrat Assembly Member Hina Bokhari visiting Ealing Common ward, as well as a whole squad of Young Liberals from across London!
Hina has taught for 20 years in some of London’s most deprived areas and founded two charities to help young people. Hina became the first Muslim female Merton Councillor serving West Barnes ward in 2018. She now serves on the London Assembly where she is Deputy Chair of the Economy Committee and a Member of both the Environment Committee and the Fire, Resilience and Emergency Planning Committee.
She was joined by members of the London Young Liberals and the Ealing Common team of Councillor Jon Ball, Connie Hersch and Benedict Cross. The team were canvassing local residents ahead of the May 2022 local elections. Hina praised the "enthusiasm and excitement of the activists and candidates" and said the feedback was "all very positive on the doorstep". She noted how soft the Conservative vote was in Ealing Common ward and how many Tory voters are switching to the Lib Dem team.
