Having volunteered at a local food bank for 2 years, I am aware of the effect that ill thought out decisions by Government have, and the need for these to be fought and reversed. As a Liberal person I believe we have a duty to make our community inclusive and welcoming to everybody.
Health and education provision are areas I am passionate about, will keep campaigning to maintain services and make sure care is being provided for the community in local locations and in the home. I will make sure the voice of the disabled and disadvantaged is represented loudly and the provision of their services is not reduced due to cost cutting from the Council. We must maintain the high achievements of schools in the Borough of Ealing as Education is the core path to generating a better and a more tolerant society given the Ethnic mix in Ealing schools.
I am Vice-Chair of governors at an Ealing primary school. As part of this volunteering role, I am also on the Finance Sub-Committee, reflecting my career spanning over 30 years in the City. I am also the governor responsible for Special Educational Needs, reflecting my commitment to equality of opportunity for all children. Special Needs are a growing part of schools' budgets.
I have lived in Ealing Common for the last 13 years and having 2 children at local schools and being retired believe I have the time, energy and knowledge to represent the local community. So I am asking residents of Ealing Common to put their faith and trust in me to become your next Councillor for Ealing Common Ward.
