In the May 2022 local elections, the Ealing Liberal Democrats made gains against the Conservatives to become the official opposition on Ealing Council. Now is the perfect time to join the team and help us grow the party in Ealing even further.

None of this success is possible without the time, commitment and hard work of the members and supporters of Ealing Liberal Democrats. The team relies on unpaid volunteers to assist with all aspects of running the party including communications, campaigning, fundraising and party management. Volunteer Roles

We have lots of different roles to suit a wide variety of skill sets and the amount of time people can spare each month. Training is provided and other members of the team are always willing to offer support and guidance.
Campaigns
- Designing artwork including leaflet, survey and poster design
- Leaflet deliveries - deliver just your street, your immediate area or a larger patch
- Door-to-door canvassers - speaking and listening to people on the door step about their priorities and issues
- Telephone canvassers - this can be at home and is a great way to keep in touch with members/supporters and potential Lib Dem voters
- Organiser - managing a team of volunteers in your ward / local area
- Poster/ Stakeboard organisation - we are always looking to identify more sites for window posters, stakeboards and banners
Media and Public Engagement
- Media management - help build our profile and develop links with local media organisations
- Write new stories and features which catch the eye of traditional and social media
- Co-ordinate and develop our presence across social media
- Party emails - we want to give members and registered supporters a regular update on what the party is doing
- Website - help update and improve the content on our Ealing Lib Dem website
Fundraising
- Fundraisers - join our team who try to find new and ingenious ways to raise money to finance our growing ambitions
- Social events team members - help run run our range of social and fund-raising events
Party Management
- Record keeping - help manage our membership. communication and campaign systems/databases
- Member/volunteer engagement - keep in touch with our existing team and encourage them to get involved in party activities
- Member recruitment - use the Connect system to identify people who might be open to joining the party
- Diversity development - help the party to engage with and become more representative of the communities across the borough
Election Candidates
- Stand for election as a candidate - become an approved candidate and seek election to represent your community
- Candidate selection - be part of the approval process for our candidates
Become a member
Membership of the Liberal Democrats starts from £1 a month (50p for concessions) and gives you:
- Access to exclusive members only events and training
- The right to pick your local election candidates and the chance to stand for election yourself
- The right to vote at conference, make policy and shape our manifesto
- A vote in leadership elections
- The chance to be part of your local party Executive
- Regular updates from the party on Lib Dem news

Become a supporter
Alternatively, you can register as a supporter for free. The Lib Dem supporters scheme is open to anyone who shares our liberal values and wants to make a difference in their communities. As a supporter, you can still:
- Get involved in local campaigns
- Help shape party policy
- Access party training
- Attend local party events
