Ealing is London's Car Crime Hot Spot!

Ealing is top of 32 London Boroughs for Car Crime!!

Ealing has had 4,352 offences recorded in the year up to Sept 2025 and leads all the London boroughs as the criminal's preferred hot spot for car crime. 

The borough has pushed Westminster into second place! Ealing has more offences than neighbouring boroughs, such as Hillingdon, for example. 

In 2022, the current Labour Mayor of London pledged to there being at least 1 police station open 24 hours in each London Borough. Acton Police Station was the only around the clock police station front counter open in the borough, but in November 2025, the Labour Mayor decided to close the front counter opening hours during the night. 

Research also shows that Ealing is in the top 10 locations in England for vehicle crime in petrol stations, as well as, thefts on petrol forecourts in 2023.

Liberal Democrats believe that residents should always report crimes to the police either through 999, 101, through the police website or to their local Safer Neighbourhood Team. 

Councillor Connie Hersch - Crime, Anti-Social Behaviour, Communities and Culture Spokesperson said: “Ealing Liberal Democrats are appalled that Ealing Borough tops the list of car crime across all of London Boroughs. This is shocking and it shows that Labour, who have controlled two of three levels of governance, have not dealt with reducing crime as a priority given that they have been in charge for the last 15 years! It seems that Ealing has been abandoned left with disgusting and unclean streets covered in litter, fly tips and uncollected leaves. Ealing Council should take action to reduce blue badge theft, but have chosen not to.”

We have seen an increase in crime and anti-social behaviour, especially in West Ealing and around our train and tube transport hubs. Liberal Democrats believe safe and well-lit communities are at the heart of social regeneration. Liberal Democrats want Ealing to be clean and safe.”
