Ealing Labour recruit Spin Doctor on six figure salary whilst cost of living burden rises for residents!

Ealing Liberal Democrats say Ealing Labour focusing on the wrong things.

Ealing Labour are focused on hiring a six-figure spin doctor when its residents are struggling with the highest tax burden since 1949/50.

Ealing Labour have demonstrated time and again poor priorisation and decision making. This is a feature of a complacent Labour Party who have been in control of the council for the last 15 years. They have taken every opportunity to raise the council tax to its maximum allowed limit of an additional 5% per year and will continue to do so.

Yet the borough seems to have degraded instead of being improved. There is expected to be 10 children's centre closures, deteriorating town centres, an unsafe housing repairs approach, reduced street cleaning frequency and more anti-social behaviour. 

Liberal Democrat Councillor Gary Busuttil, Opposition Spokesperson on Finance and Council Honesty said: “Liberal Democrats said that sadly for residents, Labour-run Ealing Council seems to be focusing on the wrong things, they are prioritising Spin Doctor recruitment instead of focusing on reducing the council tax burden, keeping the streets clean and safe and keeping open children's centres!”
