More Liberal Democrat hard work pays off in Hanger Hill as eight additional vehicles towed from Elveden Road in the Hanger Hill ward making the area cleaner and safer.

On Friday 14 November 2025 eight abandoned and damaged vehicles were removed from Elveden Road, near the North Circular in Ealing. This action has been instigated following substantial ongoing work by hardworking Liberal Democrat Councillors. This follows on from a similar swoop which happened in September which resulted in 11 abandoned cars being removed. This shows the commitment and dedication of the local Hanger Hill ward Councillors Jonathan Oxley and Athena Zissimos.

One of the removed vehicles was a Mercedes which had three outstanding unpaid penalty charge notices (PCNs). In January 2025 alone, 27 parking tickets were issued and only two paid! There was also some cases of misuse of trade plates, which has been reported to the DVLA.

This active approach has been welcomed by local business owners and residents who have been concerned at the additional clutter and obstructions of old vehicles which often leads to blocked access, increased fly tipping and is damaging to the environment.

Councillor Jonathan Oxley, Liberal Democrat for Hanger Hill said: “Liberal Democrats continue to act on this important issue, working with council officers and police to address this persistent problem. Businesses as well as local residents welcome these removals as it ensures that the road is passable for themselves and access is available for emergency services if necessary.”
